I have just returned from what i woud describe as a car park rage incident. Whilst eating my lunch in the front seat of a company vehicle parked in a public car park i heard a loud bang and noticed a shitty old ford escort driver had opened his door into the side of my companies brand new van. Granted the spaces were tight but when i asked him what he thought he was doing he replied my parking was shite. I was within the lines so i replied if he wasnt so f'in fat he might be ble to get out without needing to swing his door so wide. He then ran off to the shops with me left with a dilemma. Do I1) Call the cops. The damage was pretty insignificant and i could get it sorted for nowt so i would look a bit of a time waster.2) Chin the fat git and get myself into trouble3) Kick the crappy car door that hit my van. Again getting myself into trouble4) Walk Away and put it down to experience5) Any other suggestions.I am pretty volatile at the best of times and chinning him was not far away. But i am sitting now stewing it over and i dont feel very good!!

Record the reg & other car details (make, model, colour, etc) give the details to your companies insurers and let them do the dirty work.

The damage is to minor for that. Anyhow, the point is this guy didnt even apologise, just dissed my parking. Then buggered off.

    5) Congratulate yourself for having the self control not to thump him. If he's as much of an ar$e as he sounds his time will come.

So why is it i just feel like a pratt who shouted at an idiot for no benefit. My boss said the same thing but i think if we dont do something about people like this it becomes an acceptable practice. I had a similar incident a year back. In a busy car park in ambleside, a car was pulling out of a space, i ask the gentleman if i can wait for the space, no problem. I am blocking traffic so i pull over and another car jumps into this space i was waiting for. I get out and a family get out of their car and say it has happened to them before so tough luck. I threaten to hit the dad, then his six foot son gets out and i promise to shove his head up his dads arse so he gets back inside. My saving grace was that i had to sit and feed my baby son in my car for 10mins so i threatened to damage his car,(I never would), whilst he was away. this family walked to the nearest shop, saw i wasnt going away then returned to their car and buggered off. Made it worth the hastle. People shouldnt be allowed to get away with this behaviour.

But is it ultimately worth all the stress you caused yourself just for a parking space?

It's your company's car. Do you care that much? But I take your point, he was an annoying arse but don't take it personal. He was just an arse. The buggers are everywhere.
