Who's in then?
I've just entered the 24 solo vets. My main aim will be to place at least 1 position higher than last year

12 Hour Torchbearer...
Apart from a couple of hours kip in the evening leaves me 12 hours to be on hand to pit bitch, do some 'just for fun laps' assuming the rules allow.

Cool, you can be on standby to take me to the hospital.

Hmm, sounds like WHB is the only one of you with any sense...
... but good luck, chaps

...Not on your nelly, riding fora mere 12 hours means I've actually got to ride a bike fast :-( But yes at least the torchbearer ends with the good atmosphere and free beer...rather than in a muddy field at midnight when everyone is asleep!
Alx...I reckon stan will want a break so if you can just stay on your bike for, I don't know, say about 4 hours then that will be chipper.

I've already worked out the my strategy is five laps at a time, a bit of time of and five more laps. 20 laps is my target. The time off wasn't 4 hours in county general though....
I shall work out the reality on the day...

Looking forward to this - will be the first time we've had a few BM'ers on the same race category (well, since the me/bhb/adam throwing-in-the-towel-fest of 2011). Will hopefully be bringing the family down as well so that'll be a bonus.

All this 'soloist' speak has made me feel sufficiently inadequate to not bother :-/

Surely you've seen enough BikeMagic Soloists to know that a 24 hour race is actually two 6 hour pootles on consecutive days split with a few tea stops and a bit of nap around midnight...anyone can do that :-)

Very true. Although the 6 hour stint on the second day would also include at least 3/4 hour at the end hiding around the corner from the finish line so you don't have to do another lap.

Indeed and of course you really don't want to go out of the gun at the start so the first 2-4 hours are just a leisurely ride around to get warmed up before you come in for dinner.

Bollocks to y'all, in as a lowly 12hr pair.
At least I can finish early, get pissed & abuse you.
