    Talk to me about fingernails...

After trapping my finger nail between two cupboard doors whilst simultaneous pulling as hard as I seemingly could have done, I seem to have a (left ring) fingernail which quite happily pulls away from the nail bed.

I've got it strapped up tight with climbing tape in the hope it will magically reattach itself :-(

Anyone ridden without a finger nail?

I've managed with hardly any big toenail once, went all funny n dropped off, doesnt help wearing safety boots all day long.it will prob drop off, your nail that is..

Yeah, I smacked a big toe nail off after clipping a rock whilst pedalling through a rock garden (I will never ride a full suspension bike again). It took a few months for the toe to grow through, but it din't cause me any trouble it was just a pain getting socks on and off.

What I'm worried about it the fact being my ring finger I use that finger to hold on whilst braking as i'm a two finger braker :-/

I've got a 24hour solo coming up and it's about the last thing I could need :-(

I was about to suggest a finger amputation to ease the pain, but then I read that you use that finger for braking...
    I can only repeat Dalesman's comment - you'll die.

I don't use it for braking...I use it for holding on to the handlebars whilst the other two fingers brake...I could try and use the one finger braking technique but I'm not really a fan of it as I find I have less brake control.

I had also been tea-total for approaching 5 days...the second bottle of red is helping with the throbbing!

Presumably applied internally rather than externally!

Depends how often you wash, get some angling super glue its waterproof.

I think I'll let it do it's own thing until Bontrager and if it's still playing up then I'll just use the glue!

(and then pretend I'm Jorge Lorenzo)

Go to your Dr and see if they'll whip it off, a floppy one is much worse than none at all.

I did that with my toe...they told me to keep it on naturally till the one underneath pushed it off.

I'm going to look under the tape after breakfast :-/

Man up and pull it off, as previously said a floppy one is no use to anyone.

*wonders whether to message Mrs William HB and suggest the use of pliers whilst WHB sleeps*
