Why, recently rode a very technical XC trail on my winter bike 105 calipers on 700/23c slicks. Left a MTB and 2 cross bikes behind the better brakes [V brakes] and a 32c tyres it should make it easy.
Doesn't it run cantilever brakes not V-brakes . I used to use a cyclocross bike to commute on but the canti brakes were absolutely dreadful no matter what I did to them . I'm also old enough to remember when MTBs came with them , they were dreadful then too .
No. I lost a bit of cash id saved after the car radiator blew up so had to go cheaper. Ended up with a '13 Defy 3 - the clincher being i took Alx advice and used Pedal On, gaining £115 of free stuff in the process, pedals and 'guards amongst it.
They don't, but I got them for myself as this will be the permanent foul weather bike - may as well stay as dry as possible/protect it. I got the Defy specific guards which are rated over race blade longs in several reviews.
He is a boy (we only found out on Monday though and if he'd been a girl she would still have been a mountain biker) and is 5lbs 9oz so there's every chance I could pop him in my camelback. Might try...
