    Cheapish, decent, "most conditions" tyres....

... as per title. 40+/tyre is a lot of dosh to shell out for the general use rigid bike.

Dalesman, what are those Spesh tyres that you use?

The One On Smorgasmord or whatever is currently 30 a pair, Dual compound front, single compound rear will do.

Have heard that they are a wee bit, well, erm, sh1te, tbh.
However I've heard good things about these - Geax Saguaro MTB Folding - so for 14.99 a pop, I'm giving them a punt.

    26Inch I presume?

I've a variety of 26er tyres going for the asking as I am getting rid of all but my RoRo's.

Hardly worn LUST Ignitors 15ea posted?

Reviewed in STW this month, although I think they prefer the ones without the paper thin side walls.

But don't let that put you off.

I've got loads of tyres you can have a couple for a Beer or two if you wanted TBH. Fire XC, Nobby Nics, Trailrakers and Bonty Mud X.

What was reviewed above all else though was the Bonty XR4 team issue. I've got these on the SS prior to the review and they really are rather good in all conditions.

I had some of these as OEM tyres and they were, quite possibly, the worst tyres in the world ever...................including Conti Explorers. I think the fcukers were made of Bakerlite !

Another vote for the Bonty XR4.

But for a 'general' tyre, get the 2.2" as even they come up large and the 2.35/2.4 is mahoosive. Only taken them off to fit 2.25" NNs for the weight saving for the weekend (although I have to say I'm very impressed with them too for a smaller tyre).

Only trouble is that you may find it hard to find the XR4s cheap now, as more people realise how good they are...

Just call them first becuase there is an older poor compound version - the graphic shows and the confirmation should be THAT tread pattern and the words "team issue".

I'm (easily) confused - the nice new ones should be as per the picture? Team issue should be on 'em? :-/

Yes indeed, but I've been to a website before that showed the correct graphic but was supplying last years tyre (Nobby Nics in my case).

The price creates the suspicion - just call them and if OK grab a pair PDQ.

Funny thing about the Bonty's is that they display all the characteristics of a Nobby Nic yet are tougher and have no transition to the edge. The also wear much, much slower.
