Indeed, even if its her birthday. What's your opinion on Thatcher?

    *chuckles* Naughty, naughty.

Just been discussing her death with the missus and having a quick gander at a few different forum debates and I guess it's true to say she did her fair share of damage to many folks lives. If the results of some of her policies affected my family directly, I might feel like venting a little more venom at the news of her death. As it is, I don't really care that much either way.

However, I think the public funeral is going to be very interesting and I would imagine folk that like to turn the usually vocal protest into violence will be littered in the crowd waiting to do their thing, not to mention the 'dispossessed youth' from last years riots seizing the opportunity to rebel...again.

It'll be a year to remember, I reckon...

Seems as if there was trouble in Brixton and Bristol last night, over mrs Thatcher dieing.Magie dead parties, now thats just sad pathetic and so very sad.
And todays scum headline, maggie found dead in the ritz as if any muppet who decides to purchase or steal a copy of the scum didnt know.

Just perhaps her policies and straight line thinking should be forgotten about after her death and she doesnt get mentioned out of respect to all the families her rule affected.

But probably little hoipe of that.

Indeed. Unfortunately, the street party turned mini-riot in Brixton last night will be seen as 'typical' behaviour of the anti-Thatcherite section of society.

The worrying thing for me is I found myself agreeing with a pundit on't radio earlier who said British politics could do with another Maggie right now - then, and only then, we might have a clear left or right to vote for with a few left muddling around the centre ground.

Nowadays they're all mendacious little creeps from the same schools/unis all simply looking to be career poliiticians & feather their own nests.

Glad to be away from all the political crap in the UK at the moment and hope it sorts itself out a bit if I return next year. Saying that, Canada does have it's own problems with Stephen Harper, who I'm guessing has been a lifelong fan of Mrs T. That said, there's plenty of the modern Labour slimy behaviour and general 'up yours' to the country that everyone loved about the Blair government about him too... and I can't even vote him out (yet)!

Raised a glass to Mrs T tonight, Gawd bless er!

such an inspirational woman. A true leader of men! Back in 1980 she believed in the armed forces and gave them all a significant pay rise, which obviously went down well. A couple of years later when she needed us to fight for her, we did so willingly.

Great to see one of my old Squadron carrying her coffin today, would have been very honoured to carry it myself.

    RIP Maggie.
