Time to boot the UCI into touch?
The latest Pat McQuaid effort * makes it pretty clear that the UCI has no interest in supporting cyclists or cycling in general.
Whilst most riders don't compete for national points a lot of us do ride events and races that would be impacted by this ruling, meaning another layer of bureaucracy and cost which may be enough to cause organisers not to bother.

Been supporting the "Pat McQuaid Must Go" campaign for a while now.
the one thing that has angered me about every caught or confessed doper is that none have been prepared to name names. There is no way Armstrong, Landis, Hamilton, Millar etc got away with it for so long without some kind of complicity at the highest levels. Anyone who questioned this was hounded, bullied or sued so perhaps now's the time to take the institution on.
IMHO, the UCI do more harm to the sport than good and it has been that way for years. We need a clear out, a complete new start if the sport is to grow and regain some respect in the world and that includes all of the current board to go. Dominated by apparently self-serving egotists, it cannot continue without taking down the sport it (allegedly) aims to protect.

There is also the question who picks up the bill,to say that things have gone wrong, and getting somebody to manage the situation once things are out on paper, a very difficult task.
