Motivation for winter riding
After Alis shakespearean motivational writings i thought what keeps me going out, and the simplest one is a picture i have.

Is that Mint Sauce I see? Brilliant stuff, but wrong publishing house! You'll get abused for reading that over here!

This is from around 2000 when bike magic still advertsied in MBUK! so hahaha.
an it was never published in the mag, its a limited edition print from Jo.
i like mint grinding through the rain, and the background is mint sitting on a hill with his fickle love summer

Ok, you get the last laugh there! I always had a soft spot for old Minty and his ramblings. Good motivation! Still, it's not the horrendously adapted speech and I'm not sure you need psychological compensation for it!

I need very little motivation to ride, more time would be nice, although i failed to go out today, all day with a 5 year old at the science museum and 3 hours on trains has left me feeling like i have done 50kms

Assuming there is a Mrs Serge you really shouldn't need to ask!
I would say if you got through today then your will-power is not in question

For a while I rode for 3 seasons, and fettled the mk2 Golf during winter.
As I don't pretend to be a racer, having an off-season did me no harm and it meant I really enjoyed the riding when I got back to it.
Don't beat yourself up, do something else for a bit
Alternatively learn a new trick rather than going 'training'.

Due to a pulled muscle in my back I can't do very bloody much right now.
FEED ME.

I'll see your bad back (been there - bloody hurt too) and raise you torn ligaments and a broken tibia. Being hurt is shit isn't it? I haven't ridden in any snow this year, the one chance at hard and fast ground in winter and I'm crocked
Hope you get through it pronto Mr Hound. There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate tyres

GH, backs are a bit sorta central aren't they, at least my knee is over there and I can ignore it now and then.
And Serge, "fail to prepare" and all that sanctimonious shoite
Good on you for getting out though
