Do I need it / is it worth it?

I know where I can get a complete Bfe, fox 150, Stans arch ex, sky blue.

Its 500 for a quick sale. Can't really afford it and it'll mean the wrath of Mrs Stan.

But, it's almost too good to turn down. Should I?

    Indeed Nobby.

Only the other day I was thinking of buying something cheap and long travel just for laughs. Also found a reign for 500. THAT Cotic though is the cost of the fork alone (it's 1yo). Never thought I find something like that.

Thing is, with my indecisive nature having 4 mtb's isn't a good thing, and I'd be over biked locally any way...

Doubt you're a good enough rider to warrant such a bike?

You'd know how that feels of course, so thanks for your educated advice, appreciated.

I think what DK is trying to say (in his own inimitable style) is that a bfe is very much a 'hooligan' bike designed to be ridden hard, jumped, thrashed and generally 'hooned' (especially with 150 forks). If you're planning on exploring that kind of riding then go for it but otherwise when would you use it? For singletrack you've already got a hardtail and a full sus to suit. My soda has the same geometry as the bfe and I always reduced the forks down to 115mm for singletrack to make it feel right so I think you'd find the forks on the bfe too long. For rocky stuff that'd suit the bfe you've already got the yeti. I rode the soda in the Peaks with 130mm forks and it was fun but nowhere near as much fun as the yeti.

Annoyingly you are all right. Got my eye on a Charge Cooker SS 29er instead. Cheap, niche and simple.
