New tyres
For the first time in years I installed some new Panaracer XC pros, with luverly red side walls to match my red bike and also fitted panaracer flataway kevlar liners for puncture protection and went for a ride.
I have to say that I'd forgotten how great new tyres felt, supple, soft, grippy....even hitting some nasty muddy sections at speed I managed to stay upright quite easily.
I know...not a fave brand, not tubeless....but not expensive, no punctures and nice to ride on, so why not?

an ace tyre. i had one with the red stripe too. grippy and fast. my only problem, the red stripe/which started to look pink stripe.... well it looked awful. i couldnt bring myself to bin a perfectly good tyre just cos it made my bike look worse, especially a tyre that was so darned good. but every time i looked at that tyre, i wished it didnt look like.

If you think a Fire XC Pro is grippy many modern tyres would seem glued to the trail

You're just being a tyre snob Nobby......besides super grippy tyres are for less skilled riders!

Good, cheapish helmet for road riding recommendations? Finally getting my hands on a bike from the local club after this weekend so time to start thinking; helmet!
