So New Bike marketing, or the industry catching up? could Gravel Bikes be your n+1
Ok so reading an article on another web site, and saw the term Gravel Bike, now i had never heard of these, so off to google.
if you do not know then again search the term.
seem to be a slowly growing scene over the pond, basically very long, 100 / 200 mile rides on minor roads. so a cross between belgium cobbles, country tracks and gravel roads. (fireroads)
the bikes are road biased, now coming along with discs, are designed for comfort rather then power due to the hours spent in the saddle, and with wheels that allow flex and tyres that can cope with a huge amount of different terrain.
These could be a great commuter and general bike.
Road bike, to stiff for badly maintained country roads.
CX bike, uncomfortable for long distance, tyres tend to be soft wear quickly on roads.
