    Remember skinwall tyres? They're back

Who remembers skinwall/amber tyres the first time around? Back in the day they were everywhere, everyone was riding them. Panaracer Smoke and Dart were my tyres of choice back then.

Onza are bringing them back, with three tyres too choose from. Here's all the details

So Onza, goes bust gets reborn again as a trials company and now is a German Tyre company, What's the score?

It's a travesty that the porcupine 1.95 amberwall isn't in the line up! I know you pay for them on eBay but I'm not paying 90 for a 20 year old tyre :-)

The trials company is separate to the tyre company (rather confusingly)

So the German Onza has nothing to do with the company that made the legendary Porc's?

Swiss, you mean. No, the brand name was bought by a new concern about three years ago, with the intention of bringing Onza tyres back to life.

"three years ago, a Swiss-based company decided they needed to be brought back. Headed up by mountain bikers with 10 years of experience, the company has launched a range of new tyres"

My mistake I saw a few 'Doubles-ess' and assumed it was German.

Oh and the fact you're given English | Deutsch as page translation :-)

I still don't understand how two companies can run in the same field, using the same names yet be different! Not that I'm terribly concerned about it.

For what it's worth I'll be sporting amber sidewalls as soon as possible as I've been banging on about wanting them to be returned for about 5 years!

**faints at the thought that I simply used them as tyres rather than as an investment**

Wishing I'd kept my old biospace chainset now.

Does seem money in 'oldie stuff' to maybe our generation - or maybe the modern youth wanting to get retro for some explicable reason. Stuff had more character in those days maybe? Been making a bit of dosh on old Amstrad stuff that I've found my parents, and also some old Matchbox cars and Britains figures from my 70's youth.

I recently sold my old Pug roadie for six times what I paid for it 3 or 4 years ago... I'll be keeping an eye out for others in local ads/shop windows etc from now on.
