Valuation required...LBS has the top Whyte Plastic 29er....

Ok, my LBS have my ideal bike, realistically I need to sell one to let one in and this is possibly the most valuable bike assuming I keep one 'bouncer' how much money could I recoup on this bike:

    Trek Elite 9.7 2010
    Pace RC41 with Ti Steerer
    XTR F&R + Shifters (M970)
    Xt Cassette (9)
    Avid Elixir 5 brakes
    Hope XC6 on ZTR Crest
    Stans Tubeless on 1.8 Ignitors
    USE Atom Bars
    USE Sumo Post
    KCNC barends
    Charge Ti Saddle
    Hope clamps
    Hope QR's
    Rotor Agilis Crankset (2X9)
    Eggbeater 4Ti Pedals
    ESI Silicone grips
    Ceramic BB and Headset

Realistically what does that actually sell for 900? It would break my heart to sell it for that :/

You'd probably get the best price by breaking it up

    What Luke said.

Unfortunately, it's only worth what someone else is prepared to pay for it and, these days, 2nd hand values are struggling as folk hold on to their hard-earned.

    Cheers DM

I have to say mine is considerably pimpier than that ;-)

that's almost exactly the spec it comes out of the shop with.

(But then again mine has been raced and riden quote hard for 2 years and does look a little sorry for itself here and there tiny chips to the carbon lacquer etc)

I suppose I could do that and then transfer the XTR over to Whyte, flog the SRAM XO stuff as brand new to offset the cost.

I think I'm just struggling with breaking up my bike considering the amount of time and love I put into building what was my first plastic mountain bike...

Maybe I'll get a credit card instead :-/

What is that then? you write 10 250 cheques which they cash? surely that's pretty risky for them, I though post dated cheques were decidedly dodgy?

I've got a nice discount if I can pay upfront, I sort of have the cash floating around but some of it is earmarked for a couple of new macs and some software.

I may get rid of some bikes, I suppose I *really* only need 5 :-/

Get a cheaper PC instead and then the software is 'free' .....

The argument for making the rocket in steel was fairly interesting. If an alu bike is going to weight about the same as a steel one, why not make it out of steel and so stronger in certain aspects.

It's a fair point, but then again I'm all about the old school steel...perhaps that's why I detest my On-One...it doesn't have anything in common with one of the nicest bikes I ever owned the 1993 Kona Explosif.
