    Ballater trails anyone?

Anyone know of good riding from Ballater? Some singletrack in the woods. Up there in a month but need some planning beforehand.

Was up there 2 years ago some nice steady stuff from Loch Kinord and around Culblean Hill.
The Classic ride and well worth the effort is onto Mount Keen, we did it from the Glen Tanner Side which involves a lot of pushing as its un ridable on the up, if you come from the south its well surfaced and ridable. The descent from the top back to Glen Tanner is good and technical.

Thanks Dalesman. Riding looks good around there and an easy jaunt along the railway path. Plan to give the boys a course of steroids before attempting Mt Keen, but will put it on the list.

    Anything in Dalliefour wood?

Mount Keen is your biggie, but if that's too much, other options are:

Ride around Loch Muick - pretty tame but great scenary.

From Loch Muick, over to Glen Doll on the Capel Mounth pass, then cycle up the glen (obv track) to Bachnagairn - bit of a carry here - then choose your descent back to the Loch. One is VERY steep! This is a bit of a classic, the descent into Glen Doll/Clova is fantastic. Pub also at the end of the road if required.

Not so much singletrack, but quite an epic landy one is out from Ballater again from Loch Muick, then back to Balmoral over the obv track. Goods views of Lochnagar IIRC.

Thanks gents. All sorted now with your help. Also found www.mtbTrails.info which is an excellent resource with all the local rides.
