    Strava BM club

I know some of us use Strava to record rides, so I've just setup a Bikemagic club so you can join and shared rides with the BM community.

It's here if you want to join

I've only discovered this last week! It's going to be addicitive.

I bagged 7 Achievements on two laps of Haldon yesterday before coming off and shagging up my wrsit. 2nd Overall on the Red Run...I wonder what i'll get when it's not a Jam Packed Sunny Sunday :-)

Edit not Overall red run: 2nd place on the leaderboard of the Haldon Red (Driveway-Black)

Been on for quite a while, and find it very very addictive!

Thanks I am quite chuffed with that to be honest, but like I say it was a busy sunday afternoon and shouting RIDER RIDER is a little bit excessive so i'll go down midweek sometime when there's not likely to be anyone to slow down for

    Red 4th overall
Red Start to black run 5th
First DH section Second Best Time
    Red Sector 3 6th
    Driveway to Black Run 2nd
    First DH section 4th
Red Sector 3 Second Best time

I've had to email Strava though...I've got the ride on my iPhone but every time I click on it, it says " Cannot find resource may have been removed from the strava server"

Dalesman so Far I have found it to be much better than Endomondo which never seemed to work for me up at Haldon...The real test for me will be when I take it for a spin out on Dartmoor. Endomondo never seemed to work on the moor.

This is why I'm gonna hold off for a while & stick with Endo - i can see me blowing up or running out of ability if I'm chasing times. i've been bad enough with the virtual partner thingy on my Garmin in the past.

Just joined. Some interesting results from the weekends ride which I'll take with a pinch of salt - I'm guessing there'll be different accuracies depending on which device you're using to record the rides.

You'd not be able resist gong for KOM on segments near you.

I thought I try it out. I like the idea - especially as it seems there's a fair few roadie's in my local area creating segments along which I'm riding.

    I don't think I'll stick around though.

But you're the most competitive person Bikemagic has ever seen!

Well against my better judgement I've been looking at local roadie segments I could ride to benchmark how unfit I am - considering the bike has yet to turn a wheel in anger I reckon it's a bad thing :-/

Assuming you don't find yourself pleasantly surprised, roadies are a different breed of human :/

Go for it Nobby. It is kinda cool to see where you rank against people you've never met, and is a indicator of how quick you are - if any of that interests you (which it does for a LOT of people, hence the sudden popularity of Strava).

I've found it a lot of fun on my local trails around the Surrey Hills, as I can see how fast I am against people I know, but don't ride with regularly.
