    The Budget...

    Predictions? Comments on the outcomes?

It looks like tax cuts are to be had if you don't earn between 10,000 - 100, 000 for starters... :-/

Sounds like those who earn around 45k are to be hit hardest.

A nice chap on the radio this morning kinda said everyone who pays income tax will be better off as long as they don't then go & buy stuff like fuel, fags, booze or 2m+ properties.

    My radio guy's synopsis is this;

    a) The base (tax free) rate will go up to circa 9k
    b) The 40% threshold will creep up
    c) The 50% will be cut but some kind of "mansion tax" will apply
    d) Tax loopholes will be closed, funding a, b and c
    e) Child benefit threshold will revert to a fair calculation
    d) 3p on fuel in August
    e) Tax on Booze goes up
    f) Tax on Cigarettes go up

I thought you guys were supposed to be paying off public debt? What's with the tax cuts?

They reckon the "mansion tax" (which will apply to many flats/apartments in that London) will make up a lot of the shortfall, the increase in threshold will impact on benefits & tax credits and then we'll all rush out and spend our new found wealth thus growing the economy.

I was thinking more along the lines of 'complete and utter bollocks'.....

That's what I thought SW. Why aren't they going after the small business man who delights in paying next to nothing?

We may aswell drop our kecks and assume the position now...

Just like Osbourne did for Cameron and the older boys at Eton...

Slimy Tory Arseholes + Spineless Libdem dweebs = one cluster f#ck of a Gov't with no clear direction and half hearted policies that achieve nothing apart from pissing off the electorate.

*Could be worse as Milliband - Wallace looalikey and Ed Balls could be running the show and that would be really shite.

Before you do, consider Gun Tax, and Coffin Tax, plus the new Mansion Tax on the space you'll be taking up.

Might be cheaper to stick around and get a job a Tesco....

Loved some of the logic spouted by those high earners this morning, if I had the chnace to pay 50% tax I'd grab it and run around cheering my fucking arse off.
