You could see that as manufacturers concentraing on the big 29er push for 2011/12.

One of their problems is that bikes/components are just too good/reliable these days so folk hold onto them longer - waiting for the next 'big' innovation. Not sure this is actually coming anytime soon (the SB-66 is the closest thing to genuine innovation for a while) so how else can they part consumers with their hard-earned?

I have DH Rim's which covers me for my extra momentum and my belly takes care of the rest

I do plan to when funds allow build up a 29" rear, 26" front, it's tricky angles wise though cause you need a 29er frame + 170mm fork which I haven't got lying around and there expensive.

Lol at the non facts. So certain people were 29er advocates, and had a 69er, but now prefer 26er's until the 650b debate came along, and might try a 69er (again?).

    Wtf!

???? you realise there is zero logic in what you just posted ??

I ran 29" front, 26" rear for 4 years worked well ( still do but only rigid ), not just cause of the wheel advantage but it let me run a 100mm travel fork ( I don't like LT forks ) with the slack angles of a 170mm fork.

I was swapping 26" and 29" front depending on the ride, really didn't notice much difference from the wheel, 29" gave me slacker angles and the bars 1.1"'s higher which was nice for long rides, 26" gave me more weight forward for mud plugging.

No been dipping in and out for several years...

Wheel size debate, HT vs Full Suss, alloy vs carbon, Norf vs Souf etc - > have witnessed many discussions on BM , some have actually been enlightening and informative.
Others have just degraded into childish bickering and mud flinging, name calling and general abuse -> which can be mildly amusing initially, then completely tiresome.

But on the whole it's not a bad forum
