Getting out there and making the most of it

It hasn’t been the best summer on record. But now, as we begin the slow and depressing transition into winter, the nights already drawing in and the clocks soon set to change, we’ve been treated to a final blast of nice weather.

Are you making the most of the nice weather? Tell us about it

Bimble round the local forest tomorrow morning followed by sipping some well earned beers in the café afterwards followed by a fun Randonée on Sunday morning. Can't waste the sunshine

A nice, relaxed social ride planned for tomorrow which should end at about the right time for a huge helping of steak & kidney pud & mash plus several Doom Bar at a local hostelry.

    *is happy*

Social forest ride tomorrow, with mid ride bacon rolls.

Self imposed 50k Road time trial* on Sunday, trying to beat 1.39 and match/exceed a 30kph average.

    * or just "ride" depending on the amount of beer consumed Saturday night.

Having a pootle around Gisburn on sunday with my mate Jonny who is constantly falling off due to having no fear and just being a bit of a twonk on his bike, tis very chuckle worthy.

Looking like Squamish or perhaps Burke Mountain on Saturday, before the downpour hits on Sunday...

either way, some superb trails to have an awful lot of fun on!

After the 1.5 hour climb to the top, obviously...

This is the worst time for me to break my bike. I'm jealous of all of the above. I even considered going for a run the other day.

I dont understand the "poor summer" Ive heard so much about. Its not been dreadful, not poor. Odd showers and some winds, but apart from that decent weather.

I have clocked up shy of 7000km so far this year, a lot on the road but still biking. Get out and ride!
