I do hope the multiple popup adverts that started this morning are nothing to do with bikemagic, if they are then nobody will be happy

Kato ...

Anne, That might be a minority view

Anne Brown

Anne, They would be pretty miffed. They have some magic program that shoots them on sight so the never get to my desk.

To be honest I don't understand quite why scantily clad young ladies have to be used to advertise bike products. I don't see any correlation at all.If I want to get my rocks off I'd go to a pron site.It strikes me a very childish marketing, aiming at the lowest common denominator, where groms will be buying some cleaning product (probably for the first time!) because some bint almost flashed her t!ts on the advert. To be honest it puts me off buying that sort of product.Sorry, came over all serious for a moment there.

I agree Wendy. But to be honest most probably won't even relate the two things, you go into Halfords and see Muc-off on special and buy it. You don't get an email and then think I really must get some cleaning product. So what is the point of the ad?

Wendy Penguin

Isn't unsolicited e-mail advertising illegal now?

Anne Brown
03-12-03, 16:32
ahh but I have a box ticked here on BM that says I would like to receive details of occasional offers and promotions, which BIKEmagic believes are of interest to me.""

I've noticed that nearly all spam has stopped getting to my email account but don't know if that's due to a change in the law or if it's because T-mobile have changed the email website. The Wades advert is also annoying. I can almost get away with looking at BM at work but I have to be careful not to have that on display.

Maria ok so it was me Thomas

It annoys me too Melvin. The people to complain to are the advertisers I guess.I was going to highjack the Wades ad and put the poor chilly dear in a boiler suit, but Mark forbad me. Spoilsport. It's a bit difficult to be taken seriously in the office when you (I) say you don't like the ads, I mean most blokes just think you're being a bit Mary Whitehouse and there's only a couple of us lasses here in this testerone heavy environment.

Anne Brown

Yep I can understand that Maria.I felt a bit puritanical when I mentioned the email I got this morning.Oh dear, also great comiserations with having to do what Mark says. ;-)
