Excerpt from Bikemagic newsletter received this afternoon....Having a niche bike brand, rather than, say, a faceless corporation, sponsor Bikemagic.com is all about getting you, the reader, somethingmeaningful. Which is why we're chuffed that Marin have come on board.Welcome Marin, the new sponsors of Bikemagic.com. Throughout this year, with their help, we'll be bringing you exclusive opportunities to readabout and ride on the latest Marin and Whyte bikes. Huzzah. This year is a big one for Marin, what with their brand-new four-barlinkage system. They're confident that the product is light years ahead ofanything that's gone before it. So good, in fact, that they're supportinga series of test ride weekends. Weekends where you, yes you, can ridetop-end Marins off-road, in anger. More details as the dates and locationsare announced. In the meantime click on the below link to get yourself abrochure:

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 18:18

Douglas Shearer
06-02-03, 19:25
Good one Anne, but maybe they are lookin for loyalty to BM sponsors, that means u have to buy a Marin this year!

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 19:27
But I've already got one of them too. Damn does that mean I have to buy another one?;-)

Arnold (UB40) Laurence
06-02-03, 19:27
wow... anne already has a marin! she will be top dog here.

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 19:31
nah, it'll never catch on...

Douglas Shearer

Arnold (UB40) Laurence
06-02-03, 21:05
Apollo, cool... i thought the space programme was on hold though

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 21:11
LOL, I've also got one of them.Where the hell do I keep all these bikes.

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 21:14
Tyres are flat tho'

Arnold (UB40) Laurence
06-02-03, 21:18
funny, most Apollo's i see have flat tyres... broken brakes as well. Must be the 13 model.

Ryan Gallagher
06-02-03, 21:23
apollos are great fun to have a blast on, they pretty much have the same geometry and suspension system as an RM ETS, although the frames more reliable....;-p

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 21:38
bluergh ;-p

Ryan Gallagher
06-02-03, 21:44
yours still in one piece anne, they're breaking quite regularly going by STW....

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 21:53
no seems fine... err except for the mech hanger that was just replaced..

Ryan Gallagher
06-02-03, 21:59
ah these are little niggles really, the first type were pretty much all warranty replacements but later ones seem to be holding out fine, anyway rocky are good at warranty so theres not much to worry about....

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 22:03
what me worry? ;-)yeah from what I've heard it really seems to be the pre-production ones that were rushed out. Nashers ETS was a Pre-pro and there were a few differences between our bikes.

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 22:03
You missed Bec the other night on here.

Douglas Shearer
06-02-03, 22:08
Ahh see, Apollo have stuck yo the 'steel is real' rule, no of this modern bouncy nonsence!

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 22:11
that must be why it weighs a ton. :)

Ryan Gallagher
06-02-03, 22:11
ah becs, not heard from her in a long time, whats happening with her these days???

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 22:14
Her and Kaz have split up and she's back living with her parents in Leicestershire.

Douglas Shearer
06-02-03, 22:20
Theres a thread somewhere in Soap-Box somewhere called 'New beginnings in Leicester'. I think? I worked in Halfords over the summer, and we had pictures of an 89 Apollo being thrown out the back of a plane at 1000ft. The only damage sustained was a bent headset race! Well mentil, shame they were cr*p!

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 22:25
Yep, that's right Dougie. ;-)

Ryan Gallagher
06-02-03, 22:26
ah tis a shame, does she still go out riding

James 'You looking @ me'
06-02-03, 22:27
bugger, i still want to flog my pantera frame to her.

James 'You looking @ me'
06-02-03, 22:28
that was a bit heartless of me. Tis a shame they have split.

Douglas Shearer
06-02-03, 22:30
Always sensitive james!

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 22:31
I think she needs someone to get out with cos she doesn't know where the good trails are around there. Sounds a bit flatish too.

Douglas 'Dougal' Shearer
06-02-03, 22:33
By the lack of replys to her calls for riders maybe Leicester is an mtb blind spot?

James 'You looking @ me'
06-02-03, 22:34
Anne have you got her current contact details, I have her old phone number but I think that will just get Kaz !!!!

Ryan Gallagher
06-02-03, 22:35
ah found the thread anne, replied to bring it to the front page....shame to see that, she was almost sorted and out of debt, still shes with the parents so it'll work out again, good to see you inviting her out though......

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 22:38
No, but if you find the New Beginnings thread you could probably send Bec an email.

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 22:39
Yeah, Ryan, that could be dangerous.

Ryan Gallagher
06-02-03, 22:40
sorry i thought you invited her down to london mtb club rides....

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 22:42
No, a 1XV ride.

Ryan Gallagher
06-02-03, 22:56
well i'm sure she'll find someone in sheffield, there must be loads of mtb'ers there.

Anne Brown
06-02-03, 22:59
But she's in Leicester

Ryan Gallagher
06-02-03, 23:09
oh right, i must start to read the posts in the threads ;o)
